Penile transplant operation is successfully performed in Boston.

The first penile transplant in the U.S., it is performed by a team of doctors led by Dr. Curtis Cetrulo and Dr. Dicken Ko perform the transplant on Thomas Manning, 64, of Halifax, a cancer survivor. Similar transplants were performed unsuccessfully in China in 2006 and successfully in South Africa in 2014.
